| Looking at this study you can find many ways it is seriously flawed and skewed toward an agenda. First, there is an extremely small number of patients included in the study. From the reports I have read so far, I have not seen how the patients were selected, but would like further information on that. Second, while reports have stated that complimentary treatments given have at times caused fatalities, the actual study stated that issues had arisen from patients not being on correct treatments which may have been able to help them, not adverse reactions from some of the treatments such as homeopathy. What's more, on nutritional issues listed from dietary regimes, I did not see the specifics of what the patients had been prescribed, and what the actual levels of patient compliance was with the treatment suggested. These biased studies just underline the importance for us to conduct honest and unbiased research. Not skewing data to our benefit, but providing solid and reliable hard evidence that can be scrutinized, tested, upheld, and repeated. The burden of proof lies with us, we need to bring the truth to the people. | eric.jorgenson | BBC News - Alternative remedies 'dangerous' for kids says report | 399 days |

| The current Everybody Reads book, details Dr. John Snow's investigations into the 19th-century epidemic of Asiatic Cholera in London. Homeopathy has a fascinating history entwined in this epidemic; I think we could be a very interesting part in this community discussion. I'll post a link to Hahnemann's wonderful 1831 Essay On the Cause and Prevention of the Asiatic Cholera; in the meanwhile, here is a link to a wordcloud I created from the essay: http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/1517079/The_Cure_and_Prevention_of_the_Asiatic_Cholera | admin | Everybody Reads 2010 - Multnomah County Library | 756 days |
